Moon Diary for Thursday 10.13.16
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter.
Jupiter is a sattvic and benefic planet, and represents the Guru, the father, the teacher, the minister, higher teachings, and the husband in a woman’s chart. It is the indicator of children and the significator of luck and fortune.
Today is the 12th day of the waxing Moon, Shukla Dwadashi, and the deity is Vishnu. We are working up to a full moon on early Sunday morning, 12:22 am ET.
Vishnu is know as the Paramatman (supreme soul) and is regarded as a major god in Hinduism and Indian mythology. He is thought of as the preserver of the universe.
The Moon is in the sign of Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, and in the Nakashatra of Purva Bhadra Pada, ruled by Jupiter. The deity is Aja Ekapada, which means “one-footed goat”.
Literally, Aja Ekapada is related to lightning – it is a way to symbolize lightning – a one-footed goat – because the lightning strikes in one spot. It represents that spark of creativity, that surge of Kundalini – a charge of energy that enables us to see our own divinity.
So today is a day of good fortune – think positive and good things will come. The energy points to goodness, expansion, creativity, and blessings all around.
With the Moon in Aquarius, it could be a day of working for causes, giving money to a non-profit, being in the public eye, and being generous with time, energy, and money, wherever it is needed in your circle of family and friends.
Be on the lookout for ways to share your generosity – it could be just smiling someone as you pass them on the sidewalk or in the grocery store. Be generous with your love and energy – it costs nothing and it is those little positive things done consistently that change the world – think globally, act locally.
Traditionally, an auspicious day for all ceremonies and events.
