Thursday is associated with Jupiter.

Jupiter is a benefic, masculine planet, signifier of luck and fortune, and he rules religion, philosophy, spirituality, and higher teachings. He is known as Guru or Father, and represents the husband in a woman’s chart. He is noble, dignified, fruitful, and optimistic.

Jupiter generally brings benefits to whatever planets or house it is associated with.

Today is the 9th day of the waxing Moon, Shukla Navami. The influence of the Moon is growing stronger in the waxing cycle, and we are leading up to a full Moon on Tuesday, December 13.

The Moon is in the sign of Pisces, ruled by Jupiter, and in the Nakshatra of Uttara Bhadra, and the deity is Ahir Budhnya, the Serpent of the Deep Sea, and part of Lord Shiva’s army – which reflects the warrior nature of this lunar mansion.

Uttara Bhadra people like to serve higher causes. They can be quite selfless and very committed to spiritual awakening and growth.

So today is being a spiritual warrior, at least in your own mind. A day to be strong in the pursuit of your own truth, and to keep your intentions clear and focused.

So it could be a day to do yoga, meditate, and chant your mantra. A day to walk in the woods and feel the power of Spirit in nature. A day to speak softly to your spouse, your kids, your parents, your siblings, with the intention of putting everyone at ease. A day to talk to the Divine in the language of your heart.

You could try to talk to someone you’ve been avoiding, taking advantage of the warrior energy and mustering up courage to connect with somebody who is a sore spot in your life.

Do what you can where you can – look for the spots where you can improve your life and your behavior, and you will be led to all you need to do, to see, and to act on.

Traditionally, an inauspicious day for traveling and ceremonies.
